Former Prime Minister of Nepal Surya Bahadur dies at 88

April 16, Jhapa: Former Prime Minister of Nepal as well as Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Surya Bahadur Thapa has passed away at the age of 88. While he was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital, on Wednesday night he died Rastriya Prajatantra Party Deputy Spokesperson Kiran Giri said.

Mr. Thapa had undergone gastrectomy at the Medanta Hospital on last friday. After the gastrectomy, Senior leader of RPP Thapa's health condition was said to be normal by the doctors. But, Nepal's five-time Prime Minister Mr. Surya Bahadur's condition deteriorated Wednesday's evening and he took his last breath at 10:44 pm in the hospital.




Surya Badhur Thapa, was also the first Prime Minister of the Panchayat System, currently he is member of the Constituent Assembly also. Thapa was born at Dhankuta, Muga in March 1928.

Currently, Thapa's son Sunil Bahadur, is Commerce and Supplies Minister.
