BODIES OF 22 TARA AIR CRASH VICTIMS RECOVERED



The bodies of all 22 people on board the aircraft of Tara Air that crashed at Gauriban of Bilambu VDC in Solukhumbu district have been recovered.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the deceased are identified as TG Lama, G. Sherpa, K. Sherpa, S. Tamang, T.I. Tamang, P.G. Lama, K.W. Lama, P. Tamang.

Similarly, the other victims are Jeng D. Sherpa, K.N. Lama, L. W. Sherpa, S.B. Lama, T. Sherpa, T.Y. Sherpa, P.W. Tamang, I.B. Tamang, T.W. Sherpa and Kelsang Choidak.


The dead crew members are Capt. Anup Raj Shakya, Co-pilot Sachindra Shrestha and air hostess Sudikshya Gurung.



CAAN officials said bodies of some deceased were found in pieces.
The Tara Air flight that went out of contact five minutes after it took off from Lamidanda Airport for Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon was found crashed at the place at 6:30 am this morning.

AIR CRASH-ALL DEAD

A chopper of the Air Dynasty that was dispatched to search for the missing aircraft of Tara Air has returned with rescuers after reaching the air crash site.

Preparation is being carried out to send another chopper of the Air Dynasty with additional rescuers to the incident site, said Okhaldhunga police.

It has been found wrecked in Gauriban of Bilambu Village Development Committee (VDC) of Solukhumbu this morning.

Police suspected that the air crash took place after its collision with mountain in the area far-flung from human settlement.

All 22 people including three crew members and 19 passengers on board lost their lives to air crash, said Khotang District Police Chief Tek Bahadur Tamang.

The accident site was filled with debris of dead bodies, said Air Dynasty engineer Santosh KC. The site, which is 12 km away in south-west from Okhaldhunga district headquarters, is in the middle of forest in an altitude of around 900 metres from the sea level.

It is difficult to gather all the detail information of the incident since no phone contact is being made there, said police.



The 9N-AFX twin otter of the air company had gone missing from yesterday afternoon.

The security personnel of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been mobilized in the air crash site. The air took off to Kathmandu from Lamidanda of Khotang with 22 people on board yesterday afternoon.
